WELCOME TO NEVADA’S FINANCIAL LITERACY CENTER DEVELOPED BY THE APPLIED RESEARCH AND POLICY INSTITUTE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NEVADA STATE TREASURER’S OFFICE, FINANCIAL LITERACY AND COLLEGE SAVINGS PROGRAMS. TOGETHER WITH OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS, WE ARE CREATING A CLEARINGHOUSE OF RESOURCES DESIGNED TO SUPPORT FINANCIAL STABILITY IN NEVADA AND THE SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATION OF SENATE BILL 249, WHICH BRINGS FINANCIAL LITERACY AND COLLEGE SAVINGS LESSONS TO NEVADA CLASSROOMS. WE’VE DESIGNED AND WILL CONTINUE TO UPDATE RESOURCES FOR TEACHERS, PARENTS, AND STUDENTS & GRADUATES IN OUR COLLECTIVE EFFORT TO IMPROVE THE FINANCIAL STABILITY OF ALL NEVADANS AND INCREASE ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION FOR ALL NEVADA STUDENTS.

TEACHERS: Senate Bill-249 Requires Financial Literacy to be taught in grades 3-12 in all Nevada schools. As part of the Nevada State Treasurer’s Office, College Savings and Financial Literary Programs, a series of grade level curriculum guides and lesson plans have been designed to support Nevada Teachers adherence to SB-249 Requirements. PARENTS:  As your children begin to learn about financial literacy and college savings in their classrooms, know that the Nevada State Treasurer’s Office, College Savings and Financial Literacy Programs have created content specifically for you.
